Chase Terrace is an area in the town of Burntwood in Staffordshire, England. Chase Terrace began as a mining village in the 1860s with mines at the south side of Cannock Road. By 1884 Chase Terrace had gained a population of nearly 2,000. By 1959 all of the mines in the village had closed, by 1971 the population doubled as many people from Birmingham and the Black Country moved to Burntwood. Sankeys Corner became the commercial centre of Chase Terrace with an industrial estate, Shopping Centre and a market by 1970. A library and parish council were added by 1987. ==Chase Terrace Technology College== Chase Terrace Technology College, the area's secondary school, was destroyed by fire in August 2002. There has been speculation that the fire was started by arsonists. It was rebuilt at a cost of £15m. The school is now an Arts College as well as a Technology College, having very good Arts and Technology facilities. The school has a wide array of facilities including a state of the art Sports Hall with gym, top IT suites, Music Technology and Media rooms with iMac computers and various other pieces of technology, a drama studio, conference room, and a performance hall(Most of these can be hired out). To aid with students learning it also has a Learning Resource Centre (Branded the Phoenix Centre. A touching memento to the fire in 2002) Now along with classrooms which all cater for students with disabilities. New Science labs and a brilliant Design and Technology Department Chase Terrace Technology College can cater for any need. Supporting your child or children through secondary education. With Ofsted quoting that CTTC is a "Good School" (Ofsted Report 2014)
